With Montessori methodology the 2yr olds continue forming good habits of routine and partake in activities for their fine and gross motor skills. We start to introduce basic themes such as shapes and colour, the children have programmed activities but are free to play and discover at their own pace. The infants complement their home experience in a cosy environment that allows them to learn and grow; through different sensorial, motor and emotional experiences the children develop capabilities relating and sharing with companions of the same age. The two year olds are more independent than the babies and have their playtime on the main patio, we continue reinforcing the classroom rules daily. Normally at 2yr old level the teacher helps the infants to potty train and dominate their sphincters, although this depends on each child and may be done earlier in the baby class.

At 3 years old the children are in transition from being very small infants and begin to work the national curriculum and partake in our workshops of languages, music, yoga etc. From 3 years old the classrooms have play corners for their free time. The routines for 3yr olds help them to expand the achievements made in the first cycle and obtain a solid learning base which will be used for a lifetime. The children are more autonomous and have better skill, that´s why the institution gives them tools to potentiate their motor, sensory and cognitive abilities. Imagination and fantasy being ever present at this age means our teachers use activities, dynamics, songs and motivational material to achieve a significant learning. It is the age crucial to acquire basic knowledge that prepares them to confront daily life, that´s why we preoccupy ourselves with giving the children a concrete base.

The 4yr old children have already well established their routines, we continue to work the national curriculum with our Peruvian-European methodology and the infants have greater attention during the workshops. At 4 years old the children are very capable and enjoy being in the nursery with their companions. We take an integral approach to include all areas: language, mathematics, sciences and fine and gross motor skills, with experiential activities that allow the immediate attainment of new learning. It is the age where the children learn to be more independent and ask questions about their concerns, that´s why the teachers must have certain answers as we are teaching them to think and helping them to form the base of their world vision. Our motto ¨We learn playing¨ we put into practice with different dynamic activities, physical activities and representative activities that at this age help to multiply and enhance their cognitive, linguistic, motor and social skills.

Culminating the work of the national curriculum: In language we advance with vowels, letters and syllables; giving tools in reading and writing to the children before promotion, we teach phonological awareness as a precursor to literacy and use novel tools to teach vocal praxis which helps with good pronunciation of the different sounds. In mathematics our methodology is experiential with manipulative and recycled materials, this is to obtain a more significant learning which leads to new knowledge. In sciences the children demonstrate all their potential as investigators, they make conclusions and resolve problems relevant to their age, using scientific basis, trial and error, until achieving their learning. An integral education is important to us, that´s why we provide complementary activities to develop mental emotional and motor development. Our largest students learn to be responsible, reaffirm their self-esteem and find security because from the start they have learned how to express themselves through expositions, they´ve formed good habits which will serve them for life. The children finishing 5 years of language workshops have a vocabulary of 100 words of English and Quechua.
